Q: HOW LONG YOU BEING A PHOTOGRAPHER AND HOW COME YOU GET INTO THIS INDUSTRIES?
I do photograph over 10years, mainly I take photo for Japanese street fashion magazine such as Boon, relax, and TOKION.
I studied basic photography when I was in England. I lived in London and going to art school few years. After I graduate school, I moved back to Los Angeles. (I was in Los Angeles two years before start to live London ).when I was in LA I used to work Japanese media agent, so I ask my old company to hire me again as a full time employee. I work for them about 5,6 years, then i decided to work as freelance.
Q: WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOOTING STYLE AND WHAT INFLUENCE YOU TO SHOOT?
Not really, just push the shutter button whatever i like.
Q: ANY PROJECT IS MOST IMPRESSIVE TO YOU SINCE DAY ONE?
When I started my photo job as a freelance photographer, my studio was in Eric Haze Studio at SilverLake.
So, Me and Eric were working together and we did a lot of interesting project. I think one of the most impressive story was 9/11 issue.
In Dec / 2000 (Ten month before 911), Eric began to make his artwork called "American Flag Series". Because, he has nice symbol Arrow and Star and I had a idea through his style. So, one day I sketched american flag with arrow and star then he creating by his own style. His original dripping style was totally out of my idea, but at the end the artwork became master piece. 10 month later 911 was happen, everybody and every company start to make american flag's products. That t was so regrettable even but at the same time it was very strange for me.
Q: WHAT IS THE NEXT PROJECT?

I remember last day of the photo shooting, Me and Dusty / Paul, we are talking about T-shirts Project from DUSTY. I think, i'll would like to set up nice B&W photo and mix with nice graphic, or i will collaborate with local graphic artist from LA or HK.
And also, my friends B+ and Eric Coleman from mochilla, they are creating music project call KEEPINTIME. This project almost 8 years. and now, they release their 2nd DVD call "Brasilintime" last year and just finished Europe tour. I support this project since 2002. Q: HIRO,請問你如何投身攝影行業?
其實我從事攝影工作已超過10年,主要替日本時裝雜誌攝影如BOOM, RELAX及TOKION. 我在英國倫敦藝術學院修讀了幾年基本攝影,畢業之后回到L.A.(在英國讀書之前已在L.A.生活了2年)當時幫一些日本媒體工作,約5-6年后我決定投身自由攝影師.
Q: HIRO,是什麼原素影響您對畫面的表達及其風格?
冇特別! 只對一些我喜歡的東西按快門.
Q: 眾多作品當中那個印像最為深刻?
當在做自由攝影師時,我的STUDIO是在ERIC HAZE LA SILVERLAKE的STUDIO內. 所以我們一齊做過很多有趣之PROJECT. 我想最為深刻的應是9/11的作品. 在2000年12月(9/11之前10個月), HAZE準備制作一個名為"American flag series"的作品. 所以我用了箭咀及星來畫了一張美國旗之草圖. 然后HAZE用代表他風格的箭咀及星來完成. 他的DRIPPING風格真的超出我的想像, 到最后這油畫仍成為了Master piece. 10個月后,9/11發生了. 很多人及公司都用美國旗來做商品. 這令人很遺憾,就算到現在也令我很不可思議.
Q: 最近有沒有表新的計劃?
有時我會update新的project在我的網站. www.11x88.com也可以在DUSTY的網站內欣賞到我最新作品. 其實由02年開始我已幫一些音樂朋友B+及Eric coleman進行一個和音樂有關的計劃叫keepintime. 這個project己做了差不多8年. 第2個名為brasilintime的dvd已推出及剛剛完成了歐州的tour. 真的很希望可以看見他們在日本或亞州演出. 若大家想找關於Keepintime的消息可查看www.mochilla.com/keepintime/呀. 另我還記起在l.a.完成為DUSTY FALL WINTER 2008/9之LOOKBOOK拍攝后,晚飯時還談及希望不久將來能跟DUSTY及一些L.A Graphic artist合作. 真期待新作和再跟大家見面.
